DJ: Robert Gregor

Rock FM Radio

Robert Gregor

Robert Gregor, born on 13.11.1967 in Bratislava, started to DJ in 1985, still under communism. In 1991, he started to work as a radio DJ on the new station Rock FM Radio. This radio was founded at the Slovak state radio and even today it remains virtually the only national music radio that gives room to alternative music styles. It is marginal music that makes up the prevailing content of his radio shows.

Traditionally, his shows have a good reputation among his listeners. Around 1993, his interest in WORLD MUSIC intensified. In the beginning he only managed to start a WORLD MUSIC programme on local radio RAGTIME, but since 1997 he has also been broadcasting WORLD MUSIC on ROCK FM RADIO, every Sunday between 22:00 and 0:00. In addition to radio broadcasting, Róbert also has his own concert agency and a record label, through which he's released 14 titles.

It is possible that in the near future he will surprise the public precisely by a record from the area of WORLD MUSIC. His contributions to newspapers and music magazines are well-known and his leading role, together with music journalist Miro Potocek, in the so-called music club which has existed for 17 years, is also important. At the time of communism, this club specialised in importing music from the West. This "club" still exists today and focuses on the promotion of World Music, particularly via the press and radio. A number of other respected people working in culture are active in this club. You can send any inquires you may have to, please use the email below.
