Beware of Greeks bearing gifts, the old saying goes, but not Imam Baildi. The two Greek brothers took a bunch of samples from old Greek and Balkan tunes, chopped them up, added their instrumentation and the result was in the Greek charts for almost 2 years. Wisely not fixing something that isn’t broken, here’s their first and already very successful album. Based around some solid – but not too solid – beats, gypsy clarinets, mandolins and bouzoukis, it’s a fairly irresistible experience.
