Moving along from his earlier hiphop background and maturing into a songwriter of skill, Criolo, along with producers Daniel Ganjaman and Marcelo Cabral, describe daily life in the shanty towns of Sao Paolo. The album, a seductive blend of old school values and contemporary tech has already won three MTV Brazil awards. Caetano Veloso describes Criolo as 'possibly the most important figure on the Brazilian pop scene', and he should know.
