The blind pair from Mali deliver another powerhouse collection of rootsy and sophisticated contemporary music. Back from hanging with rock luminaries (David Gilmour, Damon Albarn et al), the album has a gutsy sensibility and is not reluctant to indulge in studio tech-tricks which add to the general 'now-ness' of the collection. At time stepping into the territory of (almost) pure pop, as on 'Wari', their seventh album is a rewarding collection. Appropriately, the title Folila means 'music' in Bambara.
