The recent upheavals in the Arabic world were accompanied by a musical backdrop; in Tunisia and Egypt, activist musicians became an integral part of the protests. Here the hyms of the revolution are collected together. Some was recorded at the time, some was added to protest video footage and uploaded to YouTube; some is explicit and some subtle, but all the material reflects the new reality and the desire for self-determination. Artists include Zorah Lajnef, whose piece Tounis Hurra! became one of the most visited video clips of the Tunisian revolution.
