The once-legendary Malian electric bluesman fell on hard times after the government was overthrown in 1968; rediscovered in the 90s in Paris, his mature recordings are the work of experience. Delicate and melodic, his self-composed tunes are ably leavened by balafon, harmonica and ngoni.
