Rocking quawwali-ist joins forces with Gallic troubadour, forces of fusion-riot-police not called out to separate protagonists. After meeting at a festival in France, instrumentalist Robin composed material to be performed by singer Faiz and his robust band. Guitar, rebab and bouzouki rub shoulders with the massed vocal Quawwali chorus in a stirring rendition of seven self-composed tunes using traditional poems of love, devotion and separation as text.
